Lucy DeGerolamo began her study of Taijiquan and Qigong in 1998. She continues to study the Yang Family Traditional long form, Taiji Short Stick, Yang Staff, various sword forms including Old Style Yang Sword and Baguajian. Two-person interactive studies include San Shou (a two person choreograph set), and Push-hands (Taijiquan sparring). These primary studies have been under the guidance of the three primary teachers of Magic Tortoise Taijiquan School, Almanzo Lamoureux, Kathleen Cusick, and Dr. Jay Dunbar. Lucy has also received instruction from other teachers in the art of Taijiquan: Grandmaster Yang Zhen Duo, Master Yang Jun, Dr. John Painter, Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming, Hermann Kauz, Master Shi, Zheng Zhong, Grandmaster Huang, Chien-Liang and Susanna DeRosa. She is a Certified USCKF Level I Judge and has served as judge in various tournaments including the United States International Kuoshu Championship Tournament. She is a member of the Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan Association and The United States Kuo Shu Federation. Additionally, Lucy has focused on presenting Taiji as a seated movement focusing on breath work, body alignment, movement and centeredness.

Lucy makes her home and conducts Taiji classes in the far western region of NC, in the Smoky Mountains.
