Shifu Pretlow has been a practitioner of taijiquan, qi-gong, meditation, and various mind, body and spirit healing modalities for over 20 years. In 1985, after 6 years of dedicated study, he was certified to teach taijiquan and qigong by his Taoist mentor, Almanzo “Lao Ma” Lamoureux of the Magic Tortoise School. Shifu Pretlow learned the principles and methods of qigong healing from various Daoist masters, and priests of the Yellow Dragon Temple Elixir School of Daoism, and the Lun Mein School of Daoism of Mount Hua. He also studied Tui-na acupressure under the tutelage of the priests of the Yellow Dragon Temple Elixir School under Master Sher K. Lew. He dedicated another 6 years studying Traditional Oriental Medicine. He is accredited and certified in Tui-na acupressure, massage, and oriental body therapy by the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. Shifu Pretlow maintains his teaching and healing practices in Anchorage, Alaska.
